MAP != TERRITORY (BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN SHRED THE MAP)

It is crucial for me to remember that practice precedes design at this stage. Let not perfection become the enemy of the good.

With this remembrance, the practice schematic I have been running shall be updated as follows:

1. Discrete execution module goes from 20 mins to 8 mins. The 8 min block decomposes into 2 min x 4 modes, sequenced intentionally to hit my speed / quality barriers in the middle of the block before flowing back to a "slow and smooth" process like a crashing wave returning to a gentle shoreline.

2. Geometrize stage maps cleanly to interrogating the underlying structure of a given musical fragment. I will constrain my senses to an even smaller fragment (a fragment within the fragment) so that I can fully internalize. To combat the noodling tendency and availability bias I encountered previously with this stage (previously folded into a 20-min technical grid as a 5 min "heuristics" sliver), I shall take the mini-fragment and systematically unpack in the following sequence:

   • triad

   • chord (extension)

   • arpeggio (with extensions)

   • scale

   The specific exploration within those categories will depend on my mood, my familiarity, or simply random. Within a defined category structure, there will be less bridled creativity.

3. Phases 4 and 5 are currently undefined, but I think that's the point. I must unchain myself and neuter self-judgment, allowing the scent of self-expression to perfume over time.
